If we are honest with ourselves we know that we humans more often than not we do not see further than the tip of our nose.

Just think about the state of the world today because of decisions made by men!

The Bible is accurate when it says:

(Jeremiah 10:23) 23 I well know, O Jehovah, that to earthling man his way does not belong. It does not belong to man who is walking even to direct his step.

And why is that?

(Isaiah 55:8, 9)
8 “For the thoughts of YOU people are not my thoughts, nor are my ways YOUR ways,” is the utterance of Jehovah.
9 “For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so my ways are higher than YOUR ways, and my thoughts than YOUR thoughts.

If God’s thoughts are higher than human’s thoughts, what are his thoughts in relation to firearms?

(Psalm 46:8-10)
8 Come, YOU people, behold the activities of Jehovah, How he has set astonishing events on the earth.
9 He is making wars to cease to the extremity of the earth. The bow he breaks apart and does cut the spear in pieces; The wagons he burns in the fire.
10 “Give in, YOU people, and know that I am God. I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth.”

Note that in these verses, it is God who takes things in hand to disarm the nations in order to bring permanent peace

(Revelation 19:11-21)
11 And I saw the heaven opened, and, look! a white horse. And the one seated upon it is called Faithful and True, and he judges and carries on war in righteousness.
12 His eyes are a fiery flame, and upon his head are many diadems. He has a name written that no one knows but he himself,
13 and he is arrayed with an outer garment sprinkled with blood, and the name he is called is The Word of God.
14 Also, the armies that were in heaven were following him on white horses, and they were clothed in white, clean, fine linen.
15 And out of his mouth there protrudes a sharp long sword, that he may strike the nations with it, and he will shepherd them with a rod of iron. He treads too the winepress of the anger of the wrath of God the Almighty.
16 And upon his outer garment, even upon his thigh, he has a name written, King of kings and Lord of lords.
17 I saw also an angel standing in the sun, and he cried out with a loud voice and said to all the birds that fly in midheaven: “Come here, be gathered together to the great evening meal of God,
18 that YOU may eat the fleshy parts of kings and the fleshy parts of military commanders and the fleshy parts of strong men and the fleshy parts of horses and of those seated upon them, and the fleshy parts of all, of freemen as well as of slaves and of small ones and great.”
19 And I saw the wild beast and the kings of the earth and their armies gathered together to wage the war with the one seated on the horse and with his army.
20 And the wild beast was caught, and along with it the false prophet that performed in front of it the signs with which he misled those who received the mark of the wild beast and those who render worship to its image. While still alive, they both were hurled into the fiery lake that burns with sulphur.
21 But the rest were killed off with the long sword of the one seated on the horse, which [sword] proceeded out of his mouth. And all the birds were filled from the fleshy parts of them.

(Psalm 37:10, 11)
10 And just a little while longer, and the wicked one will be no more; And you will certainly give attention to his place, and he will not be.
11 But the meek ones themselves will possess the earth, And they will indeed find their exquisite delight in the abundance of peace.

What should be the position of true Christians when the events described in the verses above arrive?

(Matthew 26:52)
52 Then Jesus said to him: “Return your sword to its place, for all those who take the sword will perish by the sword.

(Isaiah 2:2-4)
2 And it must occur in the final part of the days [that] the mountain of the house of Jehovah will become firmly established above the top of the mountains, and it will certainly be lifted up above the hills; and to it all the nations must stream.
3 And many peoples will certainly go and say: “Come, YOU people, and let us go up to the mountain of Jehovah, to the house of the God of Jacob; and he will instruct us about his ways, and we will walk in his paths.” For out of Zion law will go forth, and the word of Jehovah out of Jerusalem.
4 And he will certainly render judgment among the nations and set matters straight respecting many peoples. And they will have to beat their swords into plowshares and their spears into pruning shears. Nation will not lift up sword against nation, neither will they learn war anymore.

The prophecy is clear God’s people will not be armed to fight the war.

Yes, the people of God would be disarmed to the point that Satan will think that they are vulnerable.

God’s people put their entire trust in the almighty God Jehovah to win the battle against Satan and the Devil’s follower

(Ezekiel 38:7-23)
7 “‘“Be ready, and let there be preparation on your part, you with all your congregation, those congregated alongside you, and you must become their guard.
8 “‘“After many days you will be given attention. In the final part of the years you will come to the land [of people] brought back from the sword, collected together out of many peoples, onto the mountains of Israel, that have proved to be a constantly devastated place; even [a land] that has been brought forth from the peoples, [where] they have dwelt in security, all of them.
9 And you will be bound to come up. Like a storm you will come in. Like clouds to cover the land you will become, you and all your bands and many peoples with you.”’
10 “This is what the Sovereign Lord Jehovah has said, ‘And it must occur in that day that things will come up into your heart, and you will certainly think up an injurious scheme;
11 and you must say: “I shall go up against the land of open rural country. I shall come in upon those having no disturbance, dwelling in security, all of them dwelling without wall, and they do not have even bar and doors.”
12 It will be to get a big spoil and to do much plundering, in order to turn your hand back upon devastated places reinhabited and upon a people gathered together out of the nations, [one] that is accumulating wealth and property, [those] who are dwelling in the center of the earth.
13 “‘She′ba and De′dan and the merchants of Tar′shish and all its maned young lions—they will say to you: “Is it to get a big spoil that you are coming in? Is it to do much plundering that you have congregated your congregation, in order to carry off silver and gold, to take wealth and property, to get a very great spoil?”’
14 “Therefore prophesy, O son of man, and you must say to Gog, ‘This is what the Sovereign Lord Jehovah has said: “Will it not be in that day when my people Israel are dwelling in security that you will know [it]?
15 And you will certainly come from your place, from the remotest parts of the north, you and many peoples with you, all of them riding on horses, a great congregation, even a numerous military force.
16 And you will be bound to come up against my people Israel, like clouds to cover the land. In the final part of the days it will occur, and I shall certainly bring you against my land, for the purpose that the nations may know me when I sanctify myself in you before their eyes, O Gog.”’
17 “This is what the Sovereign Lord Jehovah has said, ‘Are you the same one of whom I spoke in the former days by the hand of my servants the prophets of Israel, who were prophesying in those days—years—as to bringing you in upon them?’
18 “‘And it must occur in that day, in the day when Gog comes in upon the soil of Israel,’ is the utterance of the Sovereign Lord Jehovah, ‘that my rage will come up into my nose.
19 And in my ardor, in the fire of my fury, I shall have to speak. Surely in that day a great quaking will occur in the soil of Israel.
20 And because of me the fish of the sea and the flying creatures of the heavens and the wild beasts of the field and all the creeping things that are creeping on the ground and all mankind that are upon the surface of the ground will be bound to shiver, and the mountains will actually be thrown down and the steep ways will have to fall, and to the earth even every wall will fall.’
21 “‘And I will call forth against him throughout all my mountainous region a sword,’ is the utterance of the Sovereign Lord Jehovah. ‘Against his own brother the sword of each one will come to be.
22 And I will bring myself into judgment with him, with pestilence and with blood; and a flooding downpour and hailstones, fire and sulphur I shall rain down upon him and upon his bands and upon the many peoples that will be with him.
23 And I shall certainly magnify myself and sanctify myself and make myself known before the eyes of many nations; and they will have to know that I am Jehovah.’

  1. Hi BitzAndPieces

    Thanks for your response.

It seems that you are concerned with peace and security for humanity.

    Your worries are noble.

BitzAndPieces: So if Christians should bury their guns should they also totally boycot human politics, stop voting completely, stop participating in politics all together? After all, are we not just voting for sinners?

As long as sin is present on the earth people need the American Constitution and guns.

    Response:
When Jesus was on earth he did not protect himself with swords against other humans and did not want his disciple to use sword to defend themselves against their fellowman.

(Matthew 26:51-53) 51 But, look! one of those with Jesus reached out his hand and drew his sword and struck the slave of the high priest and took off his ear. 52 Then Jesus said to him: “Return your sword to its place, for all those who take the sword will perish by the sword. 53 Or do you think that I cannot appeal to my Father to supply me at this moment more than twelve legions of angels?

Jesus was not involved in politics when he was on earth.

(John 18:36) 36 Jesus answered: “My kingdom is no part of this world. If my kingdom were part of this world, my attendants would have fought that I should not be delivered up to the Jews. But, as it is, my kingdom is not from this source.”

Jesus pointed in the direction of the kingdom of god as a solution

(Matthew 6:33) 33 “Keep on, then, seeking first the kingdom and his righteousness, and all these [other] things will be added to YOU.

    Why is that ?

The reason is that for now it is Satan rules the world.

(2 Corinthians 4:4) 4 among whom the god of this system of things has blinded the minds of the unbelievers, that the illumination of the glorious good news about the Christ, who is the image of God, might not shine through.

(Matthew 4:8-10) 8 Again the Devil took him along to an unusually high mountain, and showed him all the kingdoms of the world and their glory, 9 and he said to him: “All these things I will give you if you fall down and do an act of worship to me.” 10 Then Jesus said to him: “Go away, Satan! For it is written, ‘It is Jehovah your God you must worship, and it is to him alone you must render sacred service.’”

Today they are people that live in peace, carry no guns or riffles and don’t participate in wars.

(Isaiah 2:2-4) 2 And it must occur in the final part of the days [that] the mountain of the house of Jehovah will become firmly established above the top of the mountains, and it will certainly be lifted up above the hills; and to it all the nations must stream. 4 And he will certainly render judgment among the nations and set matters straight respecting ma

  2. In these passages God is willing to do away with guns because he has brought about an age of righteousness, an age without human sin. As long as there is sin there is war. God cannot address the issue of war and guns untill he has first eliminated sin. There is no perfect human government as long as sin persists. Even the wonderful democratic republic is rained with human sin. So if Christians should bury their guns should they also totally boycot human politics, stop voting completely, stop participating in politics all together? After all, are we not just voting for sinners? As long as sin is present on the earth people need the American Constitution and guns. When God gathers all things under Christ, then we can do away with guns and government.
