[Neosho. From a reader following original posting of this article:
There is another old WWII POW camp in Missouri that has been renovated and is back in business. It's in Neosho, MO 64850. There is a small airport nearby and train access. I haven't seen it yet. My brother lives there. It's my home town and we used to go parking and drag racing there when we were teenagers. Only the roads were there in the '70s. Several huge factories have gone bankrupt in recent years, and those buildings are also available. There was a company there also that made jet engines at one time, but the name escapes me. It had many government contracts. The people are used to seeing uniforms. The Guard used to use the area for weekend manuevers. So aircraft or military vehicles are nothing new. Plus, the area is in economic decline, as so many others, and they see this as a boon to the city coffers. As soon as I can I will check it out.]
