The US Government is now attacking encryption email companies. Lavabit is closing its doors for a reason not giving, but Ladar Levison (Owner and Operator) said,”to become complicit in crimes against the American people or walk away from nearly ten years of hard work by shutting down Lavabit.” . After Silent Circle announced that in a preemptive move they will discontinue the mail service to prevent spying. With these attacks on encryption services you should sign up for startmail (https://beta.startmail.com/), and I use Personal ( https://www.personal.com/ ) for passwords and device information, but it has more uses other than those. In both programs you control you data, and both use great security. I’m currently testing Keyme (https://www.keyme.net/) for keys.

  1. “Of course the NSA could still break in if they wanted to, but the mass encryption of emails would make it harder and more expensive for them to do so,” said Sandro Gaycken, a professor of cyber security at Berlin’s Free University.
