Romans 13
King James Version (KJV)

13 Let every soul be subject unto the higher powers. For there is no power but of God: the powers that be are ordained of God.

2 Whosoever therefore resisteth the power, resisteth the ordinance of God: and they that resist shall receive to themselves damnation.

3 For rulers are not a terror to good works, but to the evil. Wilt thou then not be afraid of the power? do that which is good, and thou shalt have praise of the same:

4 For he is the minister of God to thee for good. But if thou do that which is evil, be afraid; for he beareth not the sword in vain: for he is the minister of God, a revenger to execute wrath upon him that doeth evil.

5 Wherefore ye must needs be subject, not only for wrath, but also for conscience sake.

6 For for this cause pay ye tribute also: for they are God’s ministers, attending continually upon this very thing.

7 Render therefore to all their dues: tribute to whom tribute is due; custom to whom custom; fear to whom fear; honour to whom honour.

8 Owe no man any thing, but to love one another: for he that loveth another hath fulfilled the law.

9 For this, Thou shalt not commit adultery, Thou shalt not kill, Thou shalt not steal, Thou shalt not bear false witness, Thou shalt not covet; and if there be any other commandment, it is briefly comprehended in this saying, namely, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.

10 Love worketh no ill to his neighbour: therefore love is the fulfilling of the law.

11 And that, knowing the time, that now it is high time to awake out of sleep: for now is our salvation nearer than when we believed.

12 The night is far spent, the day is at hand: let us therefore cast off the works of darkness, and let us put on the armour of light.

13 Let us walk honestly, as in the day; not in rioting and drunkenness, not in chambering and wantonness, not in strife and envying.

14 But put ye on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make not provision for the flesh, to fulfil the lusts thereof.

The righteous men are the actual higher powers within this country and world. Especially since America’s government is meant to be of the people and for the people. God does not vote in these so-called officials, we the people are suppose to. Evil men’s worldly powers are a fraud. We the true people of God have the higher powers given to us through the Holy Spirit. Authority absolutely belongs to Christ.

  1. Your misconstruing this whole Romans Chapter 13 thing Logan. It does not have anything to do with if they are elected or not, only if they are in power. Brock is correct in that it is black and white “It says God puts the rulers into power. Period”. It’s that cut and dry. I’ve been screaming on here that Christianity was and is a politically motivated construct to be used as a tool for social control. And it’s roots are in Rome</a, and the U.S. is the new Rome, period.

    • I’ll say it again… Remember that our government is suppose to serve the people not rule over them. They have to serve the public’s interest, yet they are illegitimate for serving “special interests”. God has ordained us not them. We the people create, follow and uphold just laws but these corrupted “officials” constantly disregard what’s righteous. We are God’s ministers never them.

      • That has nothing to do with your misconstruing Romans 13.

        • That’s your opinion but it appears I am actually among the first modern Americans to interpret Romans 13 correctly.

          • Are you drinking tonight Logan?
Listen to your self; “I’ll say it again… Remember that our government is suppose to serve the people not rule over them.”

How in the hell does that statement define Romans 13?

          • Because you refer to the people in our government as “rulers” when the truth is they are meant to be “public servants”. It is the righteous men who were always the actual higher power in this country. Isn’t that obvious since the foundation of this nation? None of us are perfect but at least we strive for good. Remember… “Government of the people for the people” not “Government of the secret societies for the evil agenda”. Just the fact that they are evil proves Romans13 was not referring to them. The Holy Spirit is of the highest powers ordained from God for mankind.

      • Your philosophy is not present in the bible. The bible is clear. If you really believe it, which you must not, you would be interested in interpreting it correctly instead of the way that makes you feel better.

  2. You fooling yourself. You’re bending over backwards to make that shit say something it doesn’t say. It says God puts the rulers into power. Period. Christianity is a fucking bunch of horse shit.

    • No, I just finally viewed it from the correct angle. So your logic is that God convinced every person to vote for such officials and that He would conduct voter fraud? Remember our government is suppose to serve the people, not rule over them. We really need to re-establish common sense in this country again…

      • “There is no power but that of God.” Therefore, voter fraud wouldn’t work at getting anyone into power unless God was okay with whoever got into power because of a larger divine plan which you are too ill-informed to understand. Got it? Now give Caesar your money before you get smited down like a little serf.

        • I understand the larger plan for this world, it ends with Earth becoming like Venus. The Lord will save select people but it won’t be a lot compared to the masses left behind. Do you truly believe that God would condemn those who stand up to evil? God condemns the evil-doers not those who seek righteousness.

  3. I’m not trying to stir up any shit here, but how does your bottom statement in bold, does not reflect the biblical quote above it ? They appear to be in contradiction.

    • “Let every soul be subject unto the higher powers. For there is no power but of God: the powers that be are ordained of God.”

The Holy Spirit is the true source of higher powers in this world. None without it is greater and plus this country/government is meant to be of the people and for the people which makes my ending statement utmost correct.

      • “the powers THAT BE are ordained of God.” Don’t you get it, son? It means that God puts people in power. You think that it is saying that the real rulers are the theocracy, but that it is somehow being usurped. You are an idiot. That book is about ROME and its POWER. I can’t handle you people anymore. You will bend over backwards to square your Roman bullshit with some sort of idea about liberty. You should read the work of Sir Robert Filmer, and figure out what you are supposed to believe about government.

        • “the powers THAT BE are ordained of God.”

Did God ordain the founding fathers or the queen of England to rule this country?

          • There is no power but of God: the powers that be are ordained of God.” Any person who is willing to accept what this statement is saying, and not bend over backwards to make it mean something else, clearly understand that this statement is saying that if God didn’t want somebody to have power they wouldn’t have it. There is no power but that of God. Okay? Give up.

        • Do you even understand what true power is? Real power is in spreading truth and life, not death and corruption.
4″For he is the minister of God to thee for good. But if thou do that which is evil, be afraid; for he beareth not the sword in vain: for he is the minister of God, a revenger to execute wrath upon him that doeth evil.”
They do evil, we are ministers of God that try to do good. I have more power through the Holy Spirit than they could ever achieve through corruption.

          • Brother, I sympathize with you. God knows I do. But you are not acknowledging the truth. That can never be “good”. The fact is that this passage means exactly what it says. It sucks. I know. But that’s what it says. I would highly recommend “Caesars Messiah” by Joseph Atwill. I can’t help you. Good day.

          • If this world actually recognized truth than our country wouldn’t be in such a dire situation. Of course you can’t help me unless you are aligned under Christ.
