I fear the start of any attack on Iran will lead to attacks here in America, which will lead to martial law and our destruction as a nation. What do you think?

Well there’s many routes to martial law, which may be what these technocratic sociopaths in charge have in mind. Creating domestic unrest, say, by banning all guns via an international treaty, would be the more likely vehicle to bring us to a complete police state lock down.
The US, or rather the .1% in charge, desires war with Iran for other reasons than creating distress in the homeland.
