January 28, 2013. Lansing. When Republican strategists crunched the numbers after the November election, they realized something. Their tricks to limit the voting of senior citizens, the poor and non-whites backfired, with Florida officials being the butt of election night jokes on late night TV. But somewhere, a GOP leader realized that if the laws governing the awarding of Electoral College delegates were changed, Mitt Romney would have won the election.
