Windsor, Ontario, Canada Bans Fluoride From Drinking Water
January 29, 2013 in Health
On Monday, January 28, 2013 Windsor City Council decided in an 8-3 vote to remove fluoride from their drinking water.
Windsor, Ontario, Canada sits south of Detroit, Michigan and is home to approximately two-hundred thousand people. The vote is a result of a year-long struggle by a well organized group called Fluoride Free Windsor and many individual Windsor residents. The sewage treatment plant in Windsor was not treating for the removal of hydrofluorosilicic acid, thus the city council has spared tons of the toxic waste from entering the Detroit River and lakes Erie and Ontario. The city joins other municipalities in Essex County in enjoying a fluoride-free status.
