“Vitamin” D Supplementation

This is a speech That I gave to a group of students in flint, I screwed up a little in my delivery, I am going to make another one on another topic thinking that this topic may very well be fluoridation of our water supplies.



  1.  i.       I don’t know if you have noticed but white people and black people are different. I am talking about the real difference a pigment protein called melanin that is more prevalent in darker skin, this is important as it acts a block of uv radiation which  produces vitamin D. Sunlight also causes the creation of melanin, we call this getting a tan


  1.       By the end of my 5 or so remaining minuets I will make every effort to convince you of the vitality of Vitamin D Supplementation.

I would have to say that Vitamin D is one of my great loves, I could talk about it for hours, but I won’t.

Everyone in Michigan should all be supplementing with vitamin D.


  1.    I will talk on Sunlight, D2 and D3 plant and animal, Health benefits

If you look out the window you will notice the lack of sunlight


  1.  winter sun and summer sun
    1.  i.      Northern hemisphere sun radiation
      1. “Synthesis occurred throughout the year at latitudes of 34°N and below, whereas no production of vitamin D was found in the winter months of November through February at 42°N” (Herrmann, Obeid & Rima , 2011 )
      2. We are around 43°N latitude
      3.    ii.      You must know that Vitamin D is a prohormon sterol it is related to a large number of hormones and cholesterol which is where it comes from D1 for example is in essence two cholesterol molecules bonded together. It’s importance in the body is far reaching.

        2. (stories, facts, quotes, statistics, etc.)
      4.           iii.      “But a light-skinned person, wearing a bathing suit, will make about 15,000 IU of vitamin D in 15–20 minutes in July at mid-day. Darker skinned individuals can do the same, but it can take much longer. 3rdpiece of supporting material” (“Vitamin d frequently,” )
        1. The difference can be as high as 8x’s

Now you know what vitamin D is as an over view I will now teach you what it’s different forms are


  1.  Plants and animals
    1. “D3 is approximately 87% more potent in raising and maintaining serum 25(OH)D concentrations and produces 2- to 3-fold greater storage of vitamin D than does equimolar D2.” (heaney, Recker, Grote, Horst & Armas, 2011) D4 is commonly used as a marker To show the Bioavailability of D2 plant derived and D3 animal derived


  1. “In the early days of vitamin D research, the only way to evaluate these compounds was to examine their ability to prevent rickets in experimental animals. That was a pretty crude assay, and one couldn’t tell the difference between the two forms of the vitamin. So they were assigned the same number of units (IUs) per milligram.”   (“Vitamin d frequently,” ) This is the reason that till this day Vitamin D2 is very commonly prescribed for vitamin D deficiency a, tendency that rapidly is changing.


To say “health” benefits is somewhat of a misnomer as the hormones that are derived from Vitamin D are far reaching to an extent that is still being discovered. I will try and highlight the most notable health benefits.


  1. “xogenous1,25-dihydroxyvitamin D3, the hormonal form of vitamin D3, can completely prevent experimental autoimmune encephalomyelitis (EAE), a widely accepted mouse model of human multiple sclerosis(MS)”( Hayes Cantorna DeLuca 1997) It has be a long observable fact that MS occurs at higher rates farther away from the equator implying that sunlight or the hormones derived from sunlight play a role in the development of the disease.


A combination of 63 studies including observational studies on colon, breast, prostate and ovarian.


“The majority of studies found a protective relationship between sufficient vitamin D status and lower risk of cancer. The evidence suggests that efforts to improve vitamin D status, for example by vitamin D supplementation, could reduce cancer incidence and mortality at low cost, with few or no adverse effects.” Cedric F. Garland, Frank C. Garland, Edward D. Gorham, Martin Lipkin, Harold Newmark, Sharif B. Mohr, and Michael F. Holick
This should in know way by itself be considered a treatment but an addition to an overall plan to combat cancer


I should add that the potential for overdose is an extreme overstatement, I have only heard claims that 2 people have ever died from an overdose, One of which I cannot confirm

“The problems resulted from drinking milk fortified with vitamin D. Due to problems at one dairy, some of the milk sold had over 230,000 units of vitamin D per quart instead of the usual 400 units per quart.” (Martini 2000)

In way have I expressed every health benefit that is derived from vitamin D, It and its derivatives are so vital to human health as they affect nearly all organs and systems of the body.

As you can see it is imperative to supplement with vitamin D

I hope that I have educated you to some small existent to the various form of vitamin D as well as the effects of winter sunlight. I hope that I have to a very, very small existent let me emphasize very, the health benefits of both sunlight exposure and supplementation of vitamin D

I have up until this point strayed away from telling you two things how much you should take and what blood level is considered. Mostly because I didn’t feel like citing half a dozen credible sources, whose opinions radically differ, It is my own opinion that the 400IU RDA is low and will probably be changed to 1600 or 1800IU. Some advocates advocate larger doses some upwards of 50000 IU’s but only in cases of deficiencies and only while blood levels are monitored. Vitamin D is compared to drugs is very safe and very effective.

  1. They are most definitely making strange unnatural weather. I would have continued to put more in but I had 6 Minutes to play with. Vitamin D’s affects are so wide spread we know that we don’t know how far it reaches what we do know is almost everything. Thank you for your feed back and pointing out the undeniable fact of sunlight’s importance. My next speech for lack of a better word I need to dumb down as most people did not even understand this.

  2. thanks for the article. They are blocking the sun with chemtrails thus minimizing our D intake and challenging our immune system. During the winter you are going to have to supplement. Don’t forget the 5-HTP because you need sunlight to regulate serotonin levels so you need to supplement unless you hibernate for the winter.
