According to the Tabloid News TMZ ,  “Sage StalloneSylvester Stallone‘s son — has died and sources tell us the cause was an overdose of pills.”.  In another article, by TMZ it goes on to say, “Sources tell us officials DID find “numerous empty pill bottles” in the area where Sage’s body was discovered. No word on what types of medication the pill bottles were for.”

We’re constantly told that illegal drugs are killing so many people in the U.S., but how many legal drugs are killing people in the U.S.?

According to the World News Report: “Prescription medication abuse, or “pharmaceutical” abuse is pervasive. It affects everyone from retired executives who have had knee replacement surgery to stay-at-home moms given medication to help them sleep. In the past ten years, millions of Americans have sought treatment for pharmaceutical addiction in treatment centers across the country. Medications most often abused include: Xanax, Klonopin, Ativan/Lorazepam, Valium, Vicodin, Oxycontin, Ambien, Adderall, and Lunesta.”

How come there is not much emphasis put on the fact that legal drugs deaths are on the rise? Is this due to sheer irresponsibility of the victim or on doctors or both? Are Doctors and Pharmacists becoming the new drug dealers?

We are inundated daily with drug advertising– You look at a magazine, any magazine, and 90% of the advertisements are Big Pharma. Bill boards all over the country have Pharmaceutical advertisement. Turn on the television or listen to the radio and there are constant reminders that there is a drug to treat– asthma, arthritis, COPD, acid reflux, depression, restless leg syndrome, erectile dysfunction, and the list goes on…

High profile people such as Rush Limbaugh were caught ‘doctor shopping’ in order to get his supply of Oxycontin (an opioid used for pain). Rush served no jail time, yet if someone had an ounce of marijuana on them, and a policemen fines it, they are arrested, tried, and jailed.

Celebrities such as Britney Spears, Charlie Sheen, Chevy Chase, Carrie Fisher, Eminem, Lindsay Lohan, Mel Gibson, Patrick Kennedy, Ray Charles, Robert Downey Jr., and just recently, Demi Moore, have been addicted to prescription drugs and were fortunate to have their lives spared.

Others not so fortunate…Elvis Presley (Dead), Amy Winehouse (Dead), Anna Nicole Smith (Dead), Michael Jackson (DEAD), Jeff Conaway (Dead), Whitney Houston (Dead) and now Sage Stallone (DEAD).

What about the average person who doesn’t have the luxury to admit themselves or their family members into The Betty Ford Center, to help them get off their addiction to prescriptions drugs? How many innocent young lives have come to a screeching halt due to prescribed drugs? According to the L.A. Times report (November 17, 2011); “[Prescription] Drugs exceeded motor vehicle accidents as a cause of death in 2009, killing at least 37,485 people nationwide, according to preliminary data from the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. They go on to say, “The death toll has doubled in the last decade, now claiming a life every 14 minutes.”

According to a Fox News report (November 2011), “More people die in America every year from prescription drug abuse than die from heroin and cocaine combined. That stunning finding comes in a new report Tuesday from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.” Wait! They said prescriptions drugs abuse is worse than heroin and cocaine combined and more deaths come from prescription drug abuse!

Where is the outrage? Where is the penalties and consequences for those drug dealers? Where is the FDA doing investigations into the Pharmaceutical Industry?

Now the last thing we need to have is more rules and regulations and more policing by government. It would be nice if people were allowed to make their own informed independent choices, but since the establishment of the Food and Drug Administration (1930′s), people have had to rely on the FDA to make the decisions about pharmaceutical drugs. They give their seal of approval and the drug is introduced to the people, and people blindly trust that this drug is good for them because the FDA assured them. This is the same agency that gave their seal of approval to Vioxx, Avandia, Baycol, and Fen-Phen. Merck was exposed in holding back information in the Vioxx incidents and they basically got a slap on the wrist and fined. They were back to business the next morning.

How tragic such a young talented life was halted and cut short by a cocktail of prescription drugs.  I am sure any information that comes out of the toxicology report, with regards to pharmaceutical drugs, Sage was taking, will be totally controlled by Big Pharma.

Such a tragic loss of life.  My heart goes out to Sylvester and his ex-wife Sasha.  I cannot begin to imagine their pain of losing a child. No parent wants to outlive their children.

  1. The problem resides in irresponsible people,

It’s a personal issue, not the company that made the drug that society is too stupid to use correctly, or cannot keep locked up, Cant educate children on the importance of COMMON SENSE and why these drugs are dangerous shit….
Nope, I blame society, 100%, for their lack of self control, no self esteem, and poor morals who create their own demise while casting blame & excuse unto the world around them.
If you want to pass blame, blame the LAZY and misguided people of society that have allowed the government to authorize corporations to make our food, water, and air TOXIC!!. Now we have all these new designer cancers, diseases, and disorders that create the issues that pharma is capitalizing on… Its NOT the corporation, its the society that has allowed corporation to dominate our lives.
Lets wake up, smell the roses before it’s too late. Lets join forces to get the fluoride OUT of our water, lets fight to stop Geo-Engineering and save our selves. Lets stand against chemicals and preservatives in our food, Say NO to GMO products… the list goes on and on, but the result will be healthier people, thus healthier people need less drugs, less doctors, less pharma..
    Problem solved…
We dont need new laws, we need to wake up and take our lives back.

  2. Hey,
I have started up my own infowars.com inspired website, http://www.worldwidecorruption.com. It has not gone live yet but we are looking to take on some new writers. You do not need to be a professional writer only that you have passion for exposing the truth. We are looking for material on all subject matters. If you are interesting in contributing to the website please private message me or email me @ wwcorruption@gmail.com.

  3. That is horrible too bad it had to happen.

  4. Well, i agree up to a point, but people will use drugs, no matter what. If no substance would be at hand, they resort to cutting themselves for instance. Point is, we need the kick, the rush, the upper or the downer. That Merck and Bayer and so on make tons of money on drugs may not be a good thing, but thats capitalism. And they are now investing great summs of money on new meds, new technology. I don’t care if they do or not, we shouldnt want to stretch life endlessly for instance. But that is spoken like a real trooper, not being sick. It all gets different when i myself or a loved one is sick, or in pain. Then we want those companies to have meds and to take the pain away.
What bothers me most is the hypocracy of nations; alcohol is usually available in huge amounts, and so on, but when it comes to ‘weed’ it is a problem all of a sudden. Why not just legalize weed and heroin and cocaine? Remember, people will use drugs anyway. You could put fines on the use of them while operating dangerous equipment, like driving a car, or being in traffic. So people learn not to do that. Apart from that there is no reason, other than illogical or illegal ones to prohibit them.

It’s not all easy. I myself use oxazepam on a daily bases. Started once, some 16 years ago, when things got bad, had it under control. No more than twice a week at most, to avoid addiction. Till one day things got from bad to worse and even more worse. And actually the police here kind of ensisted i took 3 whole ones a day. And after that sent me on my way, in my car.
Life is pretty damn ironic. The funniest thing is that it sezz on the lable this medicine can lead to depression. Which is also on anti depression meds. One of the few things that still make me smile ;]
You can take away my meds and one of three things may happen. I have a hellish month, cause i cant sleep, am totally stressed out, but manage to control myself and outlive it. Maybe after that i can sleep without it. 2nd is i kill myself cause of the stress and shit. 3rd is i freak out so much, lose control and do real crazy things. People may get hurt, i would get locked up for sure.

For some people, maybe all at some point if you’d get old enough, life is pretty close to hell, as i can see it. Mentally that is, but i suspect living with continuous psysical pain is no picnic either. I hope i never have to endure that too.

Not everything that happens is with bad intent. In fact, im sure most things arent. Things just have a way of turning to shit, even though we have good intentions. Such is life.

And i smoke a lot too.

Sir, could you please not write a political piece and mix in a tragic personal loss of someone else? It is not appropriate. I feel if i don’t totally agree with you, i’m indirectly attacking Mr Stallone. It shouldnt be so, because i am not. This is the result of mixing these things up and that is why it is ‘not done’. Mkay?

    • “That Merck and Bayer and so on make tons of money on drugs may not be a good thing, but thats capitalism.”

That’s not capitalism! They get government’s seal of approval to put their drugs on the market, with very little oversight–and fraudulent data from studies that have major conflicts of interest.

When Big Pharma lobbies in DC, it is all about politics.

      • I don’t really want to get into a ‘what is capitalism’ discussion, cause its beside the point. However, a free market, without limitations will inevitably lead to everything owned by 1 person. Bill Gates or something. This is due to the nature of things > high profits > investment > higher profit, etc. This is one of the reasons money flows from poor to rich, not the other way around. Let your money work for you > money doesnt work. This is exactly why we are facing these problems now. Alex keeps hammering on ‘communism’ and so on, this has nothing to do with communism or socialism. Both are based on Marxism and Marx wanted the workers, the poor to get a piece of their own pie. Im not denying people have been mass murdered in the name of communism, socialism, or any -ism for that matter, cause they all blind people. But this one comes from capitalism / aristocracy, yes supported by so called left wing nuts. Bilderberg isnt communistic or something. Its our friggin Queen ffs. Bernard started the damn thing and thats not because he was a communist. So Alex should start to refrain from pointing at totally different things and we should all wise up! It has nothing to do with left or right, in fact, both have aspects that are good, both have aspects that are not good. We have to transcend this noobness and recognize things and ourselves for what they/we are. If anything goes at the moment, it is Darwin projected onto our societies. Social Darwinism even (and its a sad thing that mans name is in this), which is pretty close to what Hitler wanted after he killed of all left winged people in his nazi party. Their is nothing wrong with nationalism or socialism if it doent extend respectively “giving prevalence to your group” and “being social within that group”, both of these ideas are not in conflict with our being, in fact they suit it most perfectly. It is the globalists (from left and right, actually, globalists consist more of rich rather than poor, young rather than old, the latter cause of brainwashing mostly) that want to change these basic human conditions. Nietzsche said it in the 19th (!) century! “States LIE”. They lie because states are not necessarily the people (as in a tribe or race). Sad thing is the english (and so americans) dont even have a word for it. We do and germany does “Volk”, which is a group of people that share a culture, so f.i. the Dutch, French, but not Belgians (they dont have an own language, its either french or dutch). In the 19th century many recent emerged nations had the borders of that particular culture, but he allready saw that the newly formed states didnt always act on the behalf of the ‘people’, but on behalf of the state > so “states lie”.
For instance, tribal leaders (usually old and wise men) would and still do for as far as they exist, would always decide on the behalf of the tribe, as good as they can. At this point the world as a whole was a true multi-culture. The globalists want to destroy all this, leading to a global mono-culture.

And they will fail, but they may succeed for a great while, killing many many millions of innocent and good people.

I want to propose a new political idea, which opposes all -isms. Say yay to the NOISMISM.

Sorry i called you Sir btw. I didnt see you were probably female M’am, Donna ;]

  5. Once a person has been ‘treated’ for depression then the pharmaceutical industry and their pushers (medical professionals) are off the hook for any wrongdoing. If a person dies, medication is involved and they have a ‘history’ of ‘depression’ …case solved, it was suicide not murder by medicine.
