Astaxanthin is an extremely powerful carotenoid, extracted from algae. It is Astaxanthin that gives salmon, flamingos, lobsters, and many other crustaceans their pink colour.

Our body knows that with adequate levels of antioxidants in the eye it can control free radicals and maintain good vision. However, as we age, antioxidant levels deplete and we experience macular degeneration.
