Plea for help to Senator Ron Johnson to protect Minnesotans from their government

I don’t know if there is anything you can do about this, but our neighbors to the West are under attack by their state government.Minnesota has introduced HF243 which, if passed, will make the Second Amendment of the Constitution of the United States null and void.Text of the bill can be found at http://wdoc.house.leg.state.mn.us/leg/LS88/HF0243.0.pdf.
I’ve written to you recently about your stance on the defense of the Second Amendment and the rest of our Constitutional Rights. You responded that you fully support the Constitution, but were in mourning over the death of children in Connecticut. I appreciate and empathize that yes, that was a terrible tragedy. But the time for mourning is past. The people of the United States need your leadership now to prevent knee jerk reaction legislation that will only lead to the further degradation of the Constitution and lead to tyranny. President Obama stated after the tragedy that we need to have a national debate on gun laws. This is no debate. State governments are trying to enact ridiculous laws with no debate whatsoever.
A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed. This is an individual, not a state right. Its purpose is not about hunting. Its purpose is not about protection from petty criminals.
The purpose of this enumerated right is to ensure individuals can band together and prevent the government from becoming a tyranny. Some would argue that this is not the purpose of the Second Amendment, but there is a significant portion of the population that does and will not stand for this law or laws with similar effect. If laws like this do go into effect, it WILL cause a civil war in this country.I do not want this to happen, and hope you do not either.
This country needs you to do anything in your power to protect its citizens God given rights and protect them from those who are trying to tear us apart. Future generations of Americans should have more liberty, not less. I don’t know if Senator Frankin will listen to reason, but please convince the State of Minnesota that this law is a bad idea.
