Alex Jones Vs Piers Morgan critique
January 8, 2013 in Guns
Did Alex do the right thing by going nuts at Piers? I’m thinking that he was right to avoid the heirs and graces of the polite and controlled media format and therefore keeping away from the trap of the fake TV debate, and by not letting Piers control the interview he exposed the unreal nature of TV and how it stops real reactions. The interview reminded me a little of Damon Albarn interviews on Ross with his disrespect for the format. However i found that Alex was a little incoherent and more childish than i had expected, and his facts weren’t spot on, for example he’s been banging on about how the semi-auto assault rifle was left in the car at the Sandy Hook shootings for weeks, but bowed to Piers line on the gun used to kill school children. Maybe the pressure got to him on certain things, after all it’s not like he had cue cards! It is interesting how the web has reacted to this interview, and surprising to me which quotes they have picked up, there’s a lot of Alex bashing, and Piers sympathy, but i’m surprised by the salient quotes which are being picked up by the mainstream media: 1776 will commence again if you try to take our firearms, Hitler took the guns. Stalin took the guns. Mau took the guns. Fidel Castro took the guns. Hugo Chavez took the guns, the 2nd amendment isn’t there for duck hunting; it’s there to protect us from tyrannical government and street thugs, you’re [Morgan] a hatchet man of the New World Order, The guns, the iron rods Piers, didn’t do it. The tyrants did it.
Both sides are claiming victory, but I think the winner is the information, it has been distributed far wider than ever before, and If viewers dissect and investigate the information like Alex wants then the informed masses will grow.
