How far down will they continue to push the middle class and struggling Americans?
It seems the GOP is hitting the poor, middle class and the unemployed every single way they possibly can. In the latest on the War against the Poor, GOP Governor from North Carolina signs a law that will drastically cut unemployment benefits.
Reuters reports in “North Carolina enacts law slashing jobless benefits” that GOP Governor Pat McCrory’s law would cut these benefits by 30%.
The amount of compensation received would drop from 535 dollars to 320 dollars and the length of the program would be cut from 26 weeks, down to 12-20 weeks.
Keep in mind that the unemployment rate in North Carolina is currently higher than the rest of the national average of 7.9 percent.
