I do not see how a “gold [and/or] silver standard” is possible, given the amount of paper money in circulation,
the huge debt we have and a number of other prohibitive realities in force.
If we recalled all of the current paper money in circulation, printed a new currency, audited The Fed and performed a good number of other checks, controls, inspections, bookkeeping, etc. moves we MIGHT be
able to [at least] get a REAL handle on our financial/economic standing and PERHAPS come up with some
kind of a REAL [backed] MONEY operation in The US.
