Does your city have a Do Not Solicit List?

Seems harmless and useful, but this list has been hijacked  to deter residents from petitioning the government for any reason with risk of fine or jail time.

The city adds the term No Canvassing for any reason to the definition of Solicit. That is the trick!

To be safe, now when you want to petition your neighbors you have to check with the local government to see if your neighbors are on the Do Not Solicit List. In addition you might have to get a permit, and pay for the permit.
