KOG….The Sin of our Nation

KNOWING OUR GOD
Are we as a nation guilty of committing a great and grievous sin? Are we committing a sin so unpardonable that national repentance is called for? Are we committing a great national sin that requires the searching out the errors of our ways, and then doing an 180 degree change in direction in repentance? We are committing a great sin, and that is DOING EVIL IN THE SIGHT OF LORD as a nation. If our national sin consist of doing evil, then we must as a nation search out, acknowledge and repent of all it’s appearances. Some may protest, claiming to be neither sinner nor evildoer, Fear not, for I judge not. But that doesn’t mean you are not part of a nation that does evil in the sight of the Lord in it’s ways and thru it’s policies.
First, let me define evil in the way that I have come to understand and use it. To me evil is any action that results in calamity, destruction, waste and harm. By this definition, one could commit an act resulting in great evil, but would not be considered an evildoer. A toddler playing with a match, in a crowded sleeping hotel room, is capable of committing an act resulting in great evil, but none would consider the child an evildoer. And we are as children playing with matches. But the true evildoers are the ones who intentionally commit acts resulting in calamity, waste, destruction of property and personal harm. And the worst of all these evildoers is the ones who deceives the humble and the poor and the innocent into unwitting participation in their nefarious affairs. So just as king Jereboam led the northern kingdom of Israel into committing a national sin, so our leaders of today are causing us to commit a national sin in our participation in doing a great evil in the sight of the Lord.
Secondly, let me define sin in the way that I have come to understand and use it. To me sin is the transgression of the spiritual laws set in place by God to rule over his creation. In transgressing these laws and underlying principles, we end up missing the mark and falling short of the glory God has designed his laws to procure for us. So our national sin is causing us to miss the mark and fall short of the heaven on earth God intends for us, which the spiritual principles underlying the law promotes. In my view “sin” is more like a condition, whereas, “sins” refers to personal transgressions, such as the idea of both saints and sinners living and suffering under the conditions brought about by the sin of the “nation”.
So what then is our great national sin and how is our leaders causing us to do evil in the sight of the Lord? To better understand the nature of our national sin, let us consider briefly the value of life. A man is born with a 70 year charge of lifeforce, such as being born with a battery having a 70 yr. charge. From this we can see that when this lifeforce or charged is expended towards any activity it is gone forever. This shows how precious and how valuable every minute of life is, and how foolish it is to waste life’s energy upon non profitable things. Now consider the computer your sitting in front of, or the TV that you’ve been watching, or the clothes upon your body and how much life was expended into bringing these things into existence. In this sense, everything contains the expenditure of life. When I look upon the mountains of waste in our landfills, I see a colossal waste of human life and human energy. Consider the example and lesson given to us thru the national life of Egypt under the Pharaohs. The people were made to exhaust their lives building the pyramids of men. Decades of human energy wasted upon building the tomb of a dead man. What a lesson in futility, for imagine what beautiful things could have come into existence had this energy been spent otherwise.
As a christian nation, one would think that our lives are expended towards pursing the things of God, but the truth is, our leaders have deceived us into rendering our strength unto Ceasar.. And what do the our leaders do with the strength and energies of the people? They convert our lifeforce into weapons of mass destruction and waste Bringing forth calamity and personal harm upon the peaceful people of other nations.
Every time a drone kills an innocent we are all complicit. You may not have built the drone, but your lifeforce paid for it, and you may have unwittingly served the big Mac and fries to the guy who changed the tire on the fuel truck that gassed it up for it’s deadly flight. This is the great evil our nation is guilty of doing in the sight of the Lord. And we are complicit by allowing our strength to be rendered unto Ceasar, instead of unto the things of God. We need to repent and turn from this way, and understanding, keeping and defending our Constitution and Bill of Rights is the first step in the right direction. Accept it or not, but God’s fingerprints are all over our founding documents, and they are designed to procure for us a just and righteous nation. They forbid us from bowing to tyrants and make it our duty to rid ourselves of spiritual wickedness in high places.
Study the Constitution and Bill of Rights and the principle underlying them and realize that it is constitutionally forbidden for us to give away our freedoms. This is where we fall short and evil men ride over our heads. For the evil prospers when the good sits idle.
peace…
